Brenda’s life changed forever when she entered The X Factor in 2005. A semifinalist, she left the audience and judges spellbound week after week culminating in a 27 date X Factor UK arena tour. Soon after she was presented with the Screen Nation Award for Favourite Reality TV Star.

In 2006, Brenda was snapped up to play Mama Morton in Chicago the musical in London's West End - a role she played to such critical acclaim that she was asked back to play in the 10th anniversary gala performance. 

In 2007, Brenda created the role of Pearl Pastor in Carmen Jones at the Royal Festival Hall, performing with both the London and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras. Following this season Brenda was asked to headline a season of intimate concerts in the Festival Hall’s Clore Ballroom. 

Brenda has made special guest appearances at the Brixton Academy, Cardiff Millennium Stadium (in front of 40,000 people), BBC Radio 2 with the BBC Concert Orchestra for a night with Sir Terry Wogan, Friday Nights music night with Paul Gambaccini and on Graham Norton's BBC Radio 2 programme. She has also had the honour of performing with soul legends Ashford and Simpson and supported Smokey Robinson and Alexander O’Neil at Rochester Castle with her own 11 piece band.

Other highlights include sold out concerts at the world famous Ronnie Scotts, London’s Pigalle Club, and at the Barbican for Brenda Edwards Gospel Christmas produced by Raymond Gubbay. Brenda has made several television appearances including; Loose Women, The Weakest Link, The Wright Stuff, Sing If You Can, and as a regular correspondent on GMTV for their XFactor coverage.

Brenda originated the role of Killer Queen in the first national tour of We Will Rock You and then in 2010, went on to play the role in the West End until it closed on May 31st 2014. During this time she also made her screen comedy debut playing the role of Mrs Johnson in Ben Elton’s BBC1 sitcom series The Wright Way.

Her most recent credits include; Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray, Esta in Moby Dick! The Lips in Alan Carr's The Singer Takes It All and Magic FM's Magic of the Musicals concert at The Royal Albert Hall.
