David Green is the Motoring Editor of The Times LUXX.
Most recently, he filmed and presented Goodwood’s Festival of Speed for ITV1 & ITV4, for the second year running, as well as the Goodwood Revival in September 2017.
David has been involved with various car related TV programmes on both sides of the Atlantic including, Speed Hurts for Turner, Car Cruzin’ for ITV and Inside West Coast Customs for Discovery. This is in addition to entertainment shows such as the BAFTA Britannia Awards, and numerous behind the scenes specials on US dramas such as Lost, House, 24 and The Simpsons.
He has also been an active competitor in UK motorsport for many years. His first season was a drive for VW, sponsored by Sony, taking him from karts to cars. Since then he has won races and titles including the Britcar Production Championship and the British MSA GT Endurance Championship with Lotus. In this area he has presented Speed Hurts, a 10 part series following the SEAT Cupra Championship. The series followed David as he raced and featured the build up, team rivalry and high-speed drama that are part of a motorsport season.
Starting his career in modelling, David won the Clothes Show Model of the Year competition and a consequent modelling contract. Since then he has modeled for a variety of international brands such as Ralph Lauren, Ermenegildo Zegna and Levis, as well as appearing in various TV commercials for Stella Artois, Wella, Guinness, Diet Coke and Wrigleys.
He has also appeared and produced the Bullrun Rally (Channel 4 in the UK, MTV in the US) a spin off TV reality version of the Rally broadcast over 30 episodes on FOXs Speed channel in the US, with David hosting a behind the scenes special demonstrating the stunt driving in the show.
The production company he owns, Giant Film & TV, produces these programmes. They also make a range of entertainment programmes specialising in award shows (Oscars, Golden Globes & BAFTA Britannias) and 'Behind the Scenes' specials on shows such as 24, The Simpsons, Lost and House. As part of producing these and other shows David has interviewed a number of high profile individuals such as Hugh Laurie, Simon Cowell, Placido Domingo, Kofi Annan, Judi Dench and Ricky Gervais.
