Elin Steele | Set & Costume Designer
Elin grew up in Anglesey and is fluent Welsh speaker. She graduated from Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with a 1st Class (Hons). She is a 2019 Linbury Prize Finalist.
Elin is the Associate Set & Costume Designer for Matthew Bourne's New Adventures. She most recently worked on their 2019 UK Tour of Romeo & Juliet. Upcoming designs include a major new production of Kenneth Macmillan's Meyerling (Scottish Ballet); Llyfr Glas Nebo (Sherman Theatre & Welsh Tour); Anne of Green Gables (London Children's Ballet).
Recent credits include Zero for the Young Dudes and Sewing Group (Arts Educational Schools); Emilia (Mountview); Woof (Sherman Theatre); Dextera (Scottish Ballet); The Hound Of The Baskervilles (Barn Theatre, Cirencester).
Set & Costume Design credits whilst training include: Intimate Apparel (RWCMD: Caird Theatre, dir. Ola Ince), Why Are People Clapping (Alternative Routes with National Dance Company Wales, choreographed by Ed Myhill).
As Costume Assistant: Street Scene (RWCMD: Sherman Theatre, dir. Martin Constantine), The Last Days Of Judas Iscariot (RWCMD: Richard Burton Theatre, dir. Michael Fentiman), Larger Than Life (RWCMD: Shirley Bassey Studio, dir. Paul David), Two Gentlemen Of Verona (RWCMD: Richard Burton Theatre, dir. Caroline Byrne). Elin has costume making experience at the Royal Opera House and Thurrock Centre.
