Tom Lawton is the epitome of the Great British Inventor. He lives and breathes original and inventive ideas – he has honed the design skills, talent, self belief and determination to make his visions become reality.
An award-winning product design graduate, Tom’s fun and imaginative designs have received commercial and critical success in the UK and internationally. Tom is a polymath rather than a specialist in any one field, which means his creativity is unlimited and the scale of ideas is enormous. He will find the people to make the things he can’t.
Tom's Channel 4 show, Tom's Fantastic Floating Home, was televised in August 2014 to rave reviews. In this three part series, Tom looked at the world through the eyes of his 6 year old son Barney and in doing so tipped the world upside-down and sideways to completely reinvent the way we look at life. Tom and Barney built a magical floating home and filled it with mind bending prototype inventions that blew the conventional ways of doing things out of the water.
Tom is an effervescent, maverick character who sees the world differently, with boundless enthusiasm and an appetite to explore the unknown. Tom sees a world full of opportunity – and whilst he’s the first to admit that he doesn’t have all the answers, Tom’s view is that discovering them is half the fun.
